Job summary

General Motors (GM) seeks a senior engineer to lead strategy and development for power inverters and power electronics for our EV portfolio. The role involves coordinating technology roadmaps, overseeing design, analysis, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to meet performance and cost targets.

The candidate will drive advanced PE concepts, mentor staff, and coordinate with suppliers to deliver best-in-class inverter solutions for GM's electrified vehicle program.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or PhD in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive power electronics.
• Experience with inverter and PE design, development and testing.
• Experience designing PE for EV applications.
• Knowledge of PE system integration in electrified vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and roadmaps for power inverters and PE systems.
• Lead design, analysis, testing and reporting for advanced PE solutions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Product/Systems Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Mentor team members and drive multiple supplier projects to best-in-class products.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and external benchmarking.
