Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Electrical and Power Electronics Engineer to join the Advanced Concepts and Technology team in Findlay Township, PA. You will own full lifecycle design of high-power converters, including inverters, DC/DCs, and active rectifiers, with integration into grids, energy storage, and propulsion platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in power electronics, modeling, and hardware-in-loop validation, with mentorship of junior engineers and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in power electronics or MSc in engineering with power electronics emphasis and 6+ years’ experience.
• 2+ years experience with semiconductor technologies (IGBT, SiC, GaN, thyristor) in high-density power converters.
• 3+ years PCB schematic capture and layout with EMI/EMC considerations.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements for power converters and identify gaps.
• Develop electrical/electronics specifications and lead architecture decisions.
• Lead design and development of high-power converters with SiC/ GaN/IGBT/SCR devices.
• Own projects from concept to drawings, BOMs, test procedures, and commissioning.
• Lead modeling and simulation to validate topologies before prototyping.
• Analyze grid/microgrid interactions and EMI/EMC filter design.
• Build, test, troubleshoot prototypes and drive validation plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams and GE Vernova groups.
