Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division in Raleigh, NC seeks a Lead Product Development Engineer - Power Electronics to drive design of high-power UPS and energy storage products.

You will collaborate with a global team from concept to production, lead DVT and validation, support prototyping and delivery, and ensure regulatory compliance with UL and other standards. Relocation and sponsorship available; hybrid work model.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years work experience in electrical product development OR Master's degree with at least 3 years in power electronic design.
Hands-on experience in electrical design, lab testing and troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret and create electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.
Solid knowledge of electrical components, electrical safety, EMC and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics, and power conversion topologies.
Understanding layout design principles and familiarity with schematic entry and PCB design tools like Altium, Cadence, etc.

Responsibilities

Launch critical power infrastructure products that meet customer requirements and safety, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule commitments.
Design and develop new products including SiC three-phase UPS from 20kW to 2.5MW and Lithium Ion 1MW+ energy storage systems for critical loads.
Specify and qualify electrical components (breakers, fuses, SCRs, contactors, cables).
Create circuit diagrams, harness designs, BOMs and technical documentation.
Provide guidance and leadership to project team members.
