Job summary

Eaton in Raleigh, NC seeks a Lead Product Development Engineer - Power Electronics to design high‑power UPS and energy storage systems. You will oversee from concept through production in a hybrid environment with on‑site requirements and relocation support.

You’ll lead DVT, engage cross‑functional teams, and drive design for manufacturing while ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across global programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in electrical product development.
• Strong hands-on electrical design, lab testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specs.
• Knowledge of three‑phase power systems and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting specs and schedules.
• Design and develop SiC 3‑phase UPS from 20kW to 2.5MW and 1MW storage systems.
• Specify and qualify electrical components.
• Create diagrams, BOMs, and documentation.
• Lead DVT and validation testing in lab.
• Support prototype build and delivery to customers.
• Collaborate with global teams to optimize DFMs and serviceability.
