Job summary

RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, in Baltimore, MD, seeks a mid-level to senior Power Electronics Engineer specializing in hardware and controller design and testing. You will design and test SiC/ GaN converters, active rectifiers, DC-DCs, and motor drives, and develop CHIL/PHIL test setups.

You will lead cross-functional teams, contribute to business development, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring MIL standards compliance and security clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering, computer science, or related major required; graduate work acceptable in lieu of some experience.
• Experience developing higher power (>5 kW) solid-state power conversion.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and test WBG-based converters and topologies (1.2–10 kV).
• Develop digital control algorithms for power electronic converters.
• Create CHIL/PHIL or real-time test setups.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop solid-state power conversion systems.
• Mentor junior engineers.
