Job summary

RCT Systems, Inc. in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in 3D electronics packaging, thermal system design, and hardware build/test for power systems.

You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver solid-state power conversion solutions and support ITAR program requirements. Responsibilities include packaging converters, designing thermal management, performing FEA/CFD analyses, creating GD&T drawings, and coordinating with suppliers.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering is required; graduate work acceptable in lieu of some work experience.
• Citizenship status must be identified on resume/CV or cover letter for ITAR program access.
• Experience with Creo, Windchill, FEA/CFD preferred; security-clearance readiness beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Package complex power converters, energy storage, and PLC systems.
• Build and test complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLCs.
• Design thermal management systems for power electronics.
• Perform structural analysis for components, support structures, and ruggedized enclosures.
• Use FEA, CFD, and hand calculations for thermal and structural analysis.
• Create, review, and issue prototype and production drawings per GD&T.
• Source vendors and communicate for quoting and procurement of parts.
• Prepare technical presentations and design reviews for customers.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop solid-state power conversion systems.
• Provide technical input into business development activities.
