Actalent in Hillsborough, NC is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing R&D team focused on advanced power-electronics products. This highly hands-on role spans concept through production and involves mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with manufacturing, testing, and global engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in electrical or power-electronics design.
• Experience with AC/DC and/or DC/DC power conversion topologies.
• Proven ability to design robust, protected power-electronic circuits.
• Proficient in schematic capture and PCB design tools.
• Hands-on lab experience bringing up, debugging, and validating power circuits.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, grounding, and EMI/EMC fundamentals.
• Ability to develop and execute electrical test plans for performance and safety.
• Experience collaborating with manufacturing on DFM, DFT and ramp.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power-electronic circuits and systems (AC/DC, DC/DC).
• Perform schematic design, component selection, and circuit simulations.
• Lead prototype builds, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation testing.
• Create and execute comprehensive electrical test plans for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on DFM, DFT, and production ramp activities.
• Participate in design reviews and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain clear technical documentation including schematics and test reports.
• Coordinate with external test laboratories for compliance testing.
