Job summary

Expand Power Technologies is seeking a seasoned electrical engineer to lead the development of the AC-DC module and next-generation power converters. You will own the hardware lifecycle from requirements to testing and collaborate across firmware, control, and validation teams.

You have 8+ years in power electronics, hands-on lab proficiency, and experience with modular multilevel or MVDC concepts. This onsite Bay Area role offers meaningful equity and growth into leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years as an electrical engineer focused on power electronics.
Experience with modular multilevel, resonant converters, or MVDC concepts.
Startup or fast-paced early-stage environments experience.
Experience with high voltage lab equipment and validation.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of Expand’s AC-DC module and power converter architectures.
Own hardware development cycle from requirements through bring-up, testing and characterization.
Support regulatory compliance and documentation; collaborate on IP generation.
Mentor junior engineers and guide technical decisions.
Collaborate with firmware/control teams to optimize stability and performance.
