Job summary

CITEL in Hillsborough, NC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing R&D team at the new facility. This role blends hands-on design with cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, testing, and global R&D groups.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and drive design for reliability, safety, and EMI/EMC, while maintaining clear documentation and lab testing. The position is on-site with end-to-end ownership from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1+ year of professional electrical or power electronics design.
• Experience with AC/DC and/or DC/DC power conversion.
• On-site work at NC facility; U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems, including power supplies, protection circuitry, and related control electronics.
• Perform schematic design, component selection, simulation, and PCB layout support.
• Support prototype build, bring-up, debugging, and validation testing in the lab.
• Define electrical test plans to verify performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to support DFM/DFT and production ramp.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decisions and risk assessments.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical failures and field issues.
• Maintain clear technical documentation including schematics and test reports.
