Job summary

Actalent in Cranford, NJ is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead conceptual and detailed design of power conversion products, perform topology trade studies, magnetics design, WCCA, and thermal analyses.

The role involves owning RCCA for test failures, driving corrective actions, and integrating DFX/DFM/DFT into production releases, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding small projects to on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 6+ years power electronics design experience.
• Experience with schematic design.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed design of power conversion products incl topology trade studies, magnetics, WCCA, derating, and thermal/shock/vibration analyses.
• Own RCCA for test failures and field returns; implement product improvements and verify corrective actions.
• Develop and improve engineering processes, standards, and procedures to raise quality and efficiency.
• Balance sustaining engineering work with new product development to meet committed dates.
• Manage select small projects end-to-end including scope, schedule, and stakeholder communication.
• Contribute to proposals and RFPs with system descriptions, requirements matrices, qualification approaches, risk discussions, and work estimates.
