Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer in New Jersey to lead advanced power conversion product design for aerospace and defense, driving development and sustainment activities in a collaborative environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage small projects end-to-end, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software-based control with inverter designs and data bus interfaces, including CAN and ARINC 429.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of power electronics experience.
• Experience with aerospace/defense applications is preferred.
• Experience integrating software-based control with hardware using CAN/ARINC 429 interfaces is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed design of power conversion products, including topology studies and magnetics design.
• Approve qualification test plans and DFx integration prior to production release.
• Own RCCA for test failures and field returns with structured methods.
• Recommend and implement product improvements to enhance reliability and manufacturability.
• Develop and improve engineering processes, standards, and procedures for quality and efficiency.
• Sustain engineering activities including field issue response and obsolescence management.
• Lead small projects end-to-end and communicate with stakeholders.
