Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Distribution Project Engineer to lead electrical distribution design projects within the Power Sector. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, engage clients, and provide technical leadership across design and construction phases.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of experience in distribution design, and proficiency with industry software. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities in the Seattle/Tacoma region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of distribution design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
• Experience with Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design engineers and multidiscipline teams through project development.
• Establish client relations and participate in meetings across marketing, design, and production.
• Serve as technical lead within the project execution team.
• Participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies.
• Lead schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site.
• Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Controller on project reviews.
• Mentor other staff and direct activities of engineering professionals.
• Perform other duties as needed.
