Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Distribution Project Engineer to lead multi‑discipline design teams on major power delivery projects. You will coordinate design engineers, manage client relationships, and provide technical leadership across project execution, with oversight from a Project Manager.

Responsibilities include coordinating with agencies for code compliance, developing schematics and contract documents at project sites, and mentoring staff while ensuring on‑time deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• PE license or equivalent required.
• 10+ years of distribution design experience.
• Experience with Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of design engineers with a multidiscipline team throughout the project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
• Assume technical lead within a project execution team.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to complete project deliverables on schedule.
• Direct activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff.
