Job summary
Waséyabek Development Company, LLC is seeking a Power Distribution and Cable System Engineer for our Accelerator Directorate in Batavia, IL. You will design, install, operate, maintain and repair distribution for DC and pulsed power systems powering particle accelerators.
The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and several years of experience in high power distribution, familiarity with NEC/NFPA70E, and experience with ETAP or SKM and CAD tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 5+ years in power systems or power distribution.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering provides additional qualification (optional).
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA70E in low/medium voltage contexts.
- Experience with test equipment and switchgear is a plus.
- Excellent communication and vendor interaction abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects related to electrical power distribution and power supplies.
- Plan and manage distribution projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Procure electrical distribution equipment from requisition to installation.
- Provide engineering support for operation and maintenance of distribution systems.
- Monitor performance and suggest improvements.
- Analyze failures and recommend solutions.
- Review electrical installations and maintain documentation.
- Manage cable plant activities for power, control, and signal cables.
