Job summary

Fermilab seeks a Power Distribution and Cable Management Systems Engineer to lead projects in power supplies and electrical distribution. You will plan, procure, install, test, and commission distribution equipment for DC and pulsed power systems powering accelerator magnets and loads.

The role requires ABET-accredited electrical engineering education with 5+ years of experience (or a Master’s with 2+ years). Onsite at Batavia, U.S. eligibility for security clearance may apply.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required, with 5+ years in power systems or a master’s with 2+ years.
• Experience with high power distribution design and projects, procurement, and installation.
• Familiarity with NEC and NFPA70E wiring and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects related to power supplies and electrical power.
• Plan and manage electrical distribution projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Coordinate procurement from requisition to installation and commissioning.
• Provide engineering support for operation and maintenance of distribution systems.
• Monitor performance and analyze failures to recommend improvements.
• Review electrical installations and manage cable plant activities.
