Job summary

Astera Labs in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Principal Validation Engineer to develop and execute electrical validation tests for parametric device performance across all system conditions. You will formulate a comprehensive post-Silicon validation plan, automate IC and board testing, design experiments to root-cause issues, and report results to ensure conformance and robustness.

The role requires 10+ years of SoC/silicon test experience, leadership in verification, and strong Python automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years in testing, supporting or developing complex SoC/silicon products and high-speed IO/SerDes interfaces.
• Experience leading SoC validation, debug and development for high-speed interfaces like Ethernet/PCIe.
• Strong Python scripting; bench automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute electrical validation tests to quantify performance and margins.
• Automate IC and board testing; design experiments to root-cause issues.
• Report results and ensure conformance to specifications; work with internal customers to quantify margins.
• Lead validation efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
