Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Post-Silicon Validation Engineer in the Silicon One team to lead bring-up and validation efforts for ASICs.

You will work closely with design, verification, and board teams to root-cause issues, develop robust test plans, and extend validation infrastructure to ensure quality from pre- to post-silicon stages. The role requires strong C/Python scripting skills, experience with I2C/SPI/JTAG, and familiarity with PCIe and Ethernet, plus hands-on use of lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in post-silicon validation, bring-up, and debug with ASICs.
• Experience bringing up standard peripheral interfaces (I2C, SPI, JTAG) and protocols (PCIe, Ethernet).
• Fluency in C, Python, and scripting for validation automation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up Silicon Bring-up infrastructure, including system boot, initialization, and Power-On of ASICs.
• Work with design, verification, and board teams to root-cause functional/electrical issues.
• Prepare the Validation Test plan and execute functional and performance testing for IP, Subsystem, and full-chip stress testing.
• Develop and extend post-silicon validation infrastructure, automation, and test suites.
• Apply lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, analyzers, traffic generators) for validation.
• Collaborate with RTL, DFT, ATE, firmware, and system architecture teams for smooth transition to post-silicon validation.
• Provide feedback on test escapes, yield issues, and silicon errata affecting revisions and firmware/driver workarounds.
