Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Principal PMO Consultant to design, establish, and mature PMOs for capital programs in the utility and energy sector. You will guide governance, delivery maturity, and regulatory alignment while leading cross-functional teams and optimizing resources across pre-construction through execution.

The role emphasizes grid modernization, renewable integration, and utility financial management, with a focus on stakeholder coordination and risk control.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in utility project delivery, PMO consulting, and project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to utility executives and senior leaders on PMO strategy, governance, and delivery maturity.
• Align PMO operating models with regulated utility requirements, including capital planning, rate cases, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Partner with leadership to ensure PMOs support reliability, safety, affordability, resilience, and decarbonization.
• Advise on PMO structures that integrate generation, transmission, distribution, and corporate functions.
• Lead end-to-end establishment or transformation of PMOs supporting capital investment portfolios and grid modernization.
• Develop and implement PMO methodologies, frameworks, and intellectual capital.
