Job summary

BambooHR is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to own the payroll runs, data model, and platform services underpinning payroll operations. You will collaborate with payroll engineering leadership to modernize the payroll stack while maintaining production reliability.

You will also work with security and platform teams to ensure access, audit controls, and regulatory compliance are built in from the start. If you thrive on architecture decisions, data integrity, and governance in a regulated data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in HR/payroll platforms.
• Experience coordinating with dozens of downstream teams reading system contracts.
• Strong rollout discipline with parallel runs and rollback practices.
• Technical fluency to discuss database schemas, APIs, and migration mechanics.
• Experience in regulated, sensitive-data domains with compliance partners.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll platform modernization and sequence safe migration from old tools.
• Price the cost of keeping legacy systems and potential missed pay dates.
• Own the payroll data-model redesign in collaboration with engineering.
• Own access, audit, and least-privilege discipline across payroll systems.
• Ensure data retention and regulatory compliance in payroll governance.
• Publish limits and latency curves for payroll system capabilities.
• Run quarterly payroll roadmap reviews and align with operations.
