BambooHR is hiring a Sr. Product Manager to own payroll platform modernization, from data sync to the underlying data model, ensuring pay runs are secure and compliant.

You will collaborate with payroll engineering leadership to steer the design, data contracts, and governance for a platform that handles sensitive payroll operations. The role requires deep product management experience in HCM/payroll, strong rollout discipline, and the ability to balance legacy systems with a forward-looking

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience in HCM, payroll, or payroll-adjacent platform.
• Experience coordinating with dozens of teams reading one system's contracts.
• Rollout discipline: parallel runs, instant rollback, user acceptance testing, and release trains.
• Technical enough to discuss database schemas, APIs, and migration mechanics with engineers.
• Comfortable in regulated, sensitive-data domains and treat compliance counterparts as partners.

Responsabilités

• Own payroll platform modernization: decide what moves from old tools to replacements and sequence steps to avoid risk.
• Price the cost of keeping old systems running, including support escalations and risk of a missed pay date.
• Own the payroll data-model redesign in collaboration with payroll engineering leadership and validate it against canonical entity models.
• Own access and audit discipline: permission granularity, audit posture, least-privilege, deny-by-default rollouts, and feature-flag discipline; coordinate with security.
• Own compliance and retention for payroll with governance, risk, and compliance, documented as decisions.
• Test long-held assumptions about payroll systems and publish limits and latency curves.
• Run a payroll roadmap review cadence with quarterly plans and weekly leadership updates.
