Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead NCDOT heavy civil, highway, bridge, and utility projects in the Cary and Raleigh market. You will direct the project from preconstruction through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, and field teams.

You will serve as the main contact for NCDOT and other stakeholders, own cost projections, and drive safety and quality on every site. This role requires a PM of record with proven NCDOT delivery experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• You have already run projects in their entirety. This is not a step up role for an APM or Project Engineer.
• Contractor side builders only. Consultant, design or inspection only backgrounds will not fit.
• Strong on cost control, schedules, change orders and managing field teams.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as the Project Manager of record, from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job you run.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as the main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
