Job summary

Appleton Finn is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Boston operation to own complex heavy civil infrastructure projects across Massachusetts. The role oversees safety, schedule, cost and quality from preconstruction to closeout, coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors and public agencies.

The candidate will manage CPM schedules, budgets and procurement, while driving leadership, communication and problem-solving to deliver on-time, on-budget projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of construction experience, preferably heavy civil/transportation.
• Experience managing highways, bridges, rail, transit, utilities, tunnels or similar complex civil work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Own project performance including safety, scheduling, cost, quality and profitability.
• Develop and maintain CPM schedules, look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
• Coordinate field operations, sequencing, manpower, equipment, and milestones.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, WIP, billing and cash flow.
• Identify and manage change orders and additional work.
• Lead procurement, buyout, contract negotiation and performance management.
