Appleton Finn, a large, respected commercial general contractor in Indianapolis, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex commercial and institutional construction from preconstruction through closeout.

The role emphasizes both technical and operational delivery, with mentorship of project teams and direct interaction with clients, design teams and field leadership. A solid lifecycle understanding and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years progressively responsible construction experience.
• Previous Project Manager experience in commercial construction.
• Strong field/onsite construction experience.
• Solid understanding of entire project lifecycle.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts and subs.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage project responsibilities.
• Proven leadership potential and ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and overall project plans.
• Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders and project documentation.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Partner with Superintendents and field teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Monitor project costs, schedule performance and profitability.
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify and resolve project issues proactively.
• Maintain high standards for quality, safety and execution.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members.
• Take ownership of project performance with senior leadership.
