Job summary

Appleton Finn is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Phoenix to lead large-scale heavy civil projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and financial performance while coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in heavy civil construction, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven ability to manage complex programs across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience as Senior Project Manager or in a similar leadership position.
• Experience with pipeline and utility infrastructure.
• Experience with transportation and highway projects.
• Experience with industrial and large-scale civil infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, scheduling, contracts, and risk management.
• Experience managing project teams and overseeing multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of large-scale heavy civil projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project personnel.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
• Manage change orders, cost control, and project documentation.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development, estimating, and preconstruction efforts as required.
• Promote a collaborative and accountable project team environment.
