Job summary

RE Management Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead electric transmission and distribution capital projects for a major U.S. utility client, from initial scoping through engineering/design, permitting, construction, testing/commissioning, and project close-out.

This is a client-facing leadership role: you will be the single point of accountability for your assigned project(s), coordinating engineering contractors, construction contractors, and internal utility

Qualifications

• 8+ years managing electric utility distribution and/or transmission capital projects.
• Ability to independently manage a project from initial study through construction close-out.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders—engineering contractors, construction contractors, and utility client staff.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage an integrated project delivery approach across design, permitting, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop the Project Execution Plan with scope, org structure, roles, communications, and quality management.
• Build and maintain the master schedule; identify schedule risks and improvement opportunities.
• Produce weekly status reports and monthly executive-level cost/progress updates.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across engineering, construction, project controls, sourcing, environmental, and security teams.
• Own the risk management plan and change control process; review and negotiate change orders.
• Lead permitting activities from identification through acquisition, compliance, and close-out.
• Coordinate required outages and lead energization/tie-in activities.
