Job summary

University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Design and Construction to lead planning, design, and construction for major capital projects. You will coordinate with the Office of the University Architect, Operations & Maintenance, and multiple schools/centers to ensure successful delivery within budgets and timelines.

The role demands strong leadership, cross-functional communication, and hands-on management of complex programs, often in occupied facilities, with mentorship

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience managing large, complex capital projects in institutional settings.
• Experience reading designs/contracts and managing budgets, schedules, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, engineering, legal, and construction teams from inception to closeout on major capital projects.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and financial reports.
• Coordinate with offices and university schools/centers and external contractors.
• Prepare procurement, change orders, and payment recommendations.
• Mentor less experienced staff and coordinate project meetings and progress reporting.
