Job summary

University of Pennsylvania, a world‑renowned private university in Philadelphia, seeks a Senior Project Manager for Design and Construction within Facilities and Real Estate Services. You will oversee major capital projects from inception to closeout, coordinating design, engineering, construction and legal teams while managing budgets and schedules.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong communication and leadership, and the ability to mentor junior staff in a complex campus

Qualifications

• BA, BS, or BArch in a technical field related to building design/construction management.
• At least 7 years of stable and progressively responsible experience managing large and diverse project teams.
• Experience with capital budget preparation and administration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, engineering, legal, construction, and other professionals from inception through final closeout.
• Develop a collaborative team environment between Schools/Centers, contractors, designers, and FRES Divisions.
• Manage larger or more complex projects with high self-sufficiency.
• Administer financial records, and develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and reports.
• Review change requests, modify scope, and admin contract documents and payments.
• Coordinate with Office of the University Architect and other university units.
• Mentor and train junior project staff.
• Ensure adherence to university processes and safety standards.
