Job summary

Villanova University is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, design, and construction efforts for major university facilities and maintenance programs. You will manage budgets, teams, consultants, and schedules to deliver projects on time and within scope, across occupied spaces and sensitive environments.

This role requires a strong background in civil or related engineering, extensive construction management experience, and ability to coordinate with university leadership,

Qualifications

• B.S. required in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering, construction management or Architecture or similar degree.
• Commensurate experience of 15 years or more may substitute for a technical degree.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the planning, estimating, and supervising of construction and renovation activities.
• PE License or RA License desired.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages the completes design and construction efforts of assigned capital projects, both large and small.
• Responsible for client satisfaction, planning, programming, budgeting, scope definition, selection of design consultants, management of the design process, competitive selection of contractors, supervision of the construction contractor throughout the construction phase, quality assurance, and communications up and down the chain of command.
• Recommends approval/disapproval of change orders and processes contractors’ and vendors’ invoices, insurance certificates, etc. associated with design and construction contract management.
• Keeps informed and up to date with codes and ordinances to assure project compliance, including management of the efforts required to obtain certificates of occupancy.
