Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager for Design and Construction to lead major capital projects from inception through closeout. You will coordinate design, engineering, legal, and construction teams, managing budgets, schedules, and reports while ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder alignment.

The role requires extensive experience across project phases, mentoring junior staff, and delivering complex projects on time within university

Qualifications

• BA, BS, or BArch in a technical field related to building design/construction management.
• At least 7 years of experience managing large and diverse project teams on capital projects.
• Experience with budgets, schedules, contracts, and design/construction processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering, legal, construction teams for major capital projects from inception to closeout.
• Develop collaborative environments between Schools/Centers, contractors, designers, and FRES.
• Manage large, complex projects with high self-sufficiency and limited oversight.
• Administer financial records, budgets, schedules, and reports.
• Coordinate project progress meetings and monthly status reports.
• Ensure permits and zoning compliance and coordinate utility shutdowns.
