Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Senior Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and delivery of plumbing and fire protection systems for diverse projects in New York.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate withArchitects, engineers, owners, and stakeholders, and drive project success from concept through construction. The role emphasizes hands-on design with leadership responsibilities, client engagement, and strong technical delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 7+ years of progressive plumbing and fire protection design experience in relevant facilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and system modeling.
• Knowledge of plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, and building codes.
• Ability to lead project teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of plumbing and fire protection projects from concept through construction.
• Design and oversee domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air, and fire protection systems.
• Perform hydraulic analyses, system sizing, and code compliance reviews.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field investigations and provide construction support.
• Serve as primary technical resource for plumbing and fire protection disciplines.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to engineers, designers, and BIM staff.
• Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and scope development.
