Job summary

STV, Inc. seeks an experienced Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer to lead design and delivery of systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, federal, transportation, and public-sector projects.

You will provide technical leadership throughout all phases of project development from concept and schematic design through construction administration. The successful candidate will develop innovative, code-compliant, sustainable solutions in partnership

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license; Colorado licensure or ability to obtain through reciprocity is desirable for leaders.
Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in plumbing and fire protection design for commercial, institutional, industrial, municipal, transportation, education, or government facilities.
Experience designing domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air distribution, fire suppression, and fire standpipe systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Knowledge of applicable plumbing, fire, mechanical, and building codes.
Strong communication, organizational, coordination, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and execution of plumbing and fire protection projects from concept through construction.
Design and oversee building systems including domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, natural gas distribution, compressed air systems, fire standpipe systems, and various fire suppression systems.
Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, system sizing, and code compliance reviews.
Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and stakeholders.
Mentor engineers, designers, drafters, and BIM staff; provide technical oversight.
Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, staffing, scope development, and resource planning.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and sustainability initiatives.
