Job summary

Stratus has partnered with PVEDI and is hiring a Sr. Project Manager II to lead a small engineering design team focused on plumbing and fire-protection systems for multifamily and mixed-use construction in NYC.

You will oversee design, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, ensure codes compliance, budgets, and schedules, and mentor junior staff while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience designing plumbing and fire-protection systems across a range of project types.
• Experience working within New York City required; Tri-State Area regulatory environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD for mentoring junior engineer drafting tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and administrative aspects of plumbing and fire-protection design service opportunities from proposal preparation to final acceptance by Client, including invoice and accounts receivable.
• Lead plumbing/fire-protection engineering design across a variety of projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervise a team of staff designers and engineers to produce schematic, filing, and construction designs/layouts.
• Periodically inspect work to ensure adherence to contract documents; prepare summary documentation for presentation.
• Mentor junior staff with technical guidance, processes, and recognition of work.
