The primary purpose of the Sr Plumber/Steamfitter position is to lead maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures, including supply systems, DWV system, plumbing, heating, and steam fixtures/equipment. The role involves assisting in work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers, and skilled tradespeople.

Qualifications

• Technical school diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of experience in operation, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems/equipment in educational, industrial, or healthcare settings.
• Sound knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading.
• Thorough knowledge of all applicable local, state, and national codes.
• New Jersey Black Seal Engineer’s License preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime.

Physical Demands

The position requires standing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing up to 2/3 of the time. Lifting weights up to 50 pounds and exerting force up to 25 pounds are required. Ability to perform physical labor including working on roofs, scaffolds, and ladders without restrictions.

Work Environment
