An established industry player is seeking a skilled Sr Plumber/Steamfitter to lead plumbing maintenance and installation tasks. The primary purpose of the Sr Plumber/Steamfitter position is to take the lead in performing a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures including supply systems, DWV system, plumbing, heating, and steam fixtures/equipment. Assists in the work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers and mechanics of other skilled trades.
Technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge plus six (6) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems/equipment, in an educational, industrial or health care setting. Sound knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading is required, as is thorough knowledge of all applicable (local, state, and national) codes. New Jersey Black Seal Engineer’s License is preferred. Attention to detail and strong communication skills. Must be able to work overtime.

Position requires the individual to stand, walk, use fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to talk or hear up to 2/3 of the time. The individual must be able to lift a weight or exert a force of up to 25 pounds up to 2/3 of the time, and from 50 to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of the time. Ability to perform physical labor without restrictions, including lifting equipment more than fifty (50) pounds, performing work on roofs, scaffolds, and ladders.
The position may require work in the following environmental conditions: wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near mechanical moving parts, in high, precarious places, among fumes and airborne particles, in outdoor weather conditions and near vibrations up to 2/3 of the time; with toxic or caustic chemicals, in extreme hot or cold conditions, at risk of electrical shock and of radiation less than 1/3 of the time. Moderate noise conditions are typical for the work environment for this job. The position requires close, distance and color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception as well as the ability to adjust focus.
