Job summary

Ventura Foods in Birmingham, AL is seeking a skilled Industrial Controls Technician to install, program and maintain PLC-based systems, leveraging ladder logic and AutoCad for electrical schematics. You will troubleshoot and upgrade control systems across the plant, ensuring safety and reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.

The role requires an Associate degree in electronics or electrical tech and 5 years of journey-level experience with PLCs, servo motors, and drives.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronic or electrical technology or equivalent experience.
• 5 years progressively responsible journey level experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery to including PLC based systems, servo motors, and drives.
• AutoCad experience.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs with a laptop computer using platform systems from vendors such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rexroth, etc.
• Assist in project management and implementation of new control systems, control system upgrades, equipment, and equipment upgrades.
• Replace faulty switches, and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
• Install, repair, overhauls, modifies and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the Plant.
• Maintains Plant power distribution systems, including performing preventive maintenance, and installing wiring, conduit and apparatus.
