Job summary

Ventura Foods in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Maintenance Tech to repair and maintain packaging and refinery equipment, ensuring safety and food standards.
This role includes training a technician, performing preventative maintenance, and minimizing downtime while upholding GMP, FSMA and SQF compliance.

The position emphasizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of experience working with and troubleshooting PLCs, AC/DC electrical troubleshooting on food packaging/processing equipment and production/processing machine repair.

Responsibilities

• Uses mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment per GMP and safety procedures.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs and coordinates with other mechanics.
• Installs, repairs, overhauls, and maintains electrical and mechanical systems and machinery.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance and repairs when not on breakdowns.
• Diagnoses and repairs faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
• Follows food safety policies, GMPs, FSMA and preventive controls.
