Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) is building state-of-the-art HPC and cloud infrastructure to accelerate research and innovation. The Platform Security team seeks a Senior Platform Security Engineer to embed real-time threat detection and vulnerability management into the core of our platform engineering stack.

You will own vulnerability programs across infrastructure, containers, and cloud services, partner with Platform Engineering and DevOps, and drive secure development practices across

Qualifications

• 6+ years of security engineering focused on platform or infrastructure security.
• Experience with vulnerability management tooling and real-time monitoring platforms.
• Strong understanding of software and infrastructure security, including container security and supply chain risk.
• Experience securing Kubernetes/OpenStack and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency in Linux and infrastructure tooling; scripting in Python/Bash/Go.

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability management program across the platform engineering stack (infrastructure, containers, cloud).
• Implement and tune real-time security monitoring and threat detection tooling for HPC and cloud environments.
• Integrate security scanning and vulnerability assessment into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.
• Lead vulnerability triage and remediation with engineering teams.
• Conduct platform-level security assessments, threat modelling, and attack surface analysis.
• Develop automation to continually assess security posture and reduce manual effort.
• Contribute to security practices and foster a security‑first culture across engineering.
