Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) seeks a VP of Security Operations to lead the security program across five domains for its HPC and cloud infrastructure.

Reporting to the CISO, you will set strategy, build platforms, stand up SOC and detection engineering, and drive measurable security maturity and resilience.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in security operations, 4+ in leadership, hands-on depth in incident response, vulnerability management, threat intel, and MITRE ATT&CK alignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security operations, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
• Hands-on depth across incident response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, GRC, and offensive security.
• Proven experience building mature security operations in large-scale infra, including HPC/AI environments.
• Experience standing up or maturing a SOC and detection engineering with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR.
• Strong communication and executive presence to inform CISO, board, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow Security Operations across five domains with defined SLAs and metrics.
• Deliver the SecOps program including strategy, budget, platforms, and reporting on risk and maturity.
• Own end-to-end incident response per NIST lifecycle, including detection, containment, and post-incident reviews.
• Run risk-based vulnerability management across full stack with HPC/AI-specific surfaces.
• Build threat intel and operations aligned to MITRE ATT&CK to drive defensive priorities.
• Lead GRC and Privacy, embedding privacy-by-design and readiness for audits and certifications.
• Oversee Offensive Security, red team, and adversarial simulations translating findings into detections.
• Define and govern SOC tooling selection, deployments, and operating budgets with executive buy-in.
• Represent Security Operations in cross-functional forums, client engagements, and regulatory contexts.
