Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to secure HPC and cloud infrastructure. You will own vulnerability management across platform engineering, implement real-time monitoring, and drive security into CI/CD and IaC.

You will partner with Platform Engineering and DevOps, triage risks, perform platform security assessments, and develop automation to improve visibility and reduce manual effort.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in security engineering focusing on platform/infrastructure security.
• Experience with vulnerability management tooling and real-time monitoring.
• Strong understanding of container security and supply chain risk.
• Experience securing Kubernetes and OpenStack; cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency in Linux; scripting in Python, Bash, or Go; IaC in CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with CVSS, exploit maturity, and risk-based prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability management program across the platform engineering stack.
• Implement and tune real-time security monitoring and threat detection tooling.
• Integrate security scanning and vulnerability assessment into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.
• Lead vulnerability triage and remediation prioritization with engineering teams.
• Conduct platform security assessments and contribute to threat modelling and attack surface analysis.
• Develop automation to continuously assess security posture and reduce manual effort.
• Improve platform security practices, tooling, and processes.
