Verkada is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for Platform Infrastructure in San Mateo, CA. You will architect, design, and build scalable infra to support millions of devices and cost efficiency, leading cross-team initiatives and establishing engineering best practices.

Onsite at Verkada HQ is required for this role. You will shape infrastructure features, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product teams to deliver key results while advancing the company’s private, AI-powered

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or similar technical field.
• Experience and enthusiasm for learning about new infrastructure products and strategies.
• Comfortable at the frontier of infrastructure and software development.
• Experience in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio and Terraform is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead critical efforts related to scalability, reliability and efficiency.
• Influence the features and direction of our platform with your own ideas.
• Provide technical support for engineers on team.
• Align with product and org objectives, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on delivering key results.
