Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help architect, design, and develop scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure for millions of connected devices. You will lead cross-team initiatives, mentor teammates, and establish engineering best practices.

The role is onsite at our San Mateo headquarters. You will work on projects like rolling out service mesh or cost-effective video ingestion/storage while collaborating closely with product and org teams to align with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or a similar technical field
• Experience with Python and/or Go
• Experience with one of the major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and Istio
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Willingness to lead cross-team efforts and mentor others
• Interest in architecting scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead scalability, reliability and efficiency efforts
• Influence the features and direction of our platform with your ideas
• Provide technical support for engineers on the team
• Coordinate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver key results
