Job summary

SpyCloud, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering to lead our core platform team. You will treat the platform as a product, drive adoption, and remove cognitive load from the product teams you serve.

You'll own the platform vision and roadmap, publish a team charter, and align stakeholders with measurable SLOs and fair service models. This role emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on platform engineering.
• 3-5 years leading engineering teams (4+ people), ideally platform or developer tooling.
• Track record running an internal platform as a product with measurable adoption.
• Experience operating highly available systems in AWS with containers, IaC, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong architectural judgment and hands-on coding when needed.
• Experience using DORA metrics, SLOs, and developer surveys to prioritize.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and grow a team of platform engineers.
• Own platform vision and roadmap as a product with explicit scope.
• Publish a team charter defining services, SLOs, support model, and engagement.
• Measure success with DORA metrics and developer satisfaction.
• Run platform as a product with SLOs, versioning, on-call, migrations.
• Evaluate and roll out AI-assisted development tools across engineering.
