Job summary

Twenty Technologies, headquartered in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Team. You will own the technical roadmap and shepherd onboarding, administration, and security across the product family, partnering with a Product Manager, and guiding frontend, backend, and infrastructure engineers toward scalable, coherent systems.

This player-coach role blends management with hands-on contributions as needed to unblock delivery and ensure high-quality platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of engineering management experience.
• Led teams across frontend, backend, and/or infrastructure engineers.
• Strong breadth across modern web platforms and backend services.
• Owned a technical roadmap with prioritized decisions.
• Built or maintained platform/shared-service capabilities.
• Track record of developing ICs with clear feedback and coaching.
• Eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cross-disciplinary team of engineers across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Own the technical roadmap; partner with the Product Manager on the roadmap.
• Run projects end-to-end—set timelines, unblock blockers, keep momentum.
• Guide architecture and decisions to ensure coherent, secure, scalable systems.
• Establish engineering quality standards: reviews, testing, docs, security.
• Define interfaces and shared capabilities used by feature teams.
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers; provide growth feedback and plans.
• Lead structured hiring processes and close strong candidates.
• Collaborate with internal consumers to meet platform needs.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and communicate risks/timelines.
• Occasionally contribute hands-on when it accelerates delivery.
