Job summary

PMAT is seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer to design, automate, deploy, and sustain secure cloud and platform environments for Navy and DoD capabilities. This role emphasizes IaC, scripting, AWS GovCloud, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver mission‑critical solutions.

You will lead platform modernization across enterprise, containerized, and hybrid environments, mentor engineers, and communicate risks and recommendations to stakeholders while maintaining secure,

Qualifications

• Experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or related roles.
• Experience supporting enterprise, cloud, containerized, hybrid, or hosting environments.
• Usage of scripting, automation, and IaC concepts to support operations.
• Experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and modernizing infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of OS, networking, identity, storage, and application infra.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, hardening, vulnerability management, and secure config.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple domains.
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support secure platform environments across AWS GovCloud, enterprise, containerized, and hybrid architectures.
• Develop and improve IaC to automate provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
• Use scripting to streamline platform operations and enable efficient system administration.
• Configure and integrate compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services.
• Engineer OS, identity, networking, storage, and app hosting environments for mission platforms.
• Support containerized platforms and orchestration by aiding deployment and scaling.
• Apply cybersecurity and hardening practices with audit-ready documentation.
• Provide senior technical leadership, document solutions, and mentor team members.
