Job summary

Synopsys Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and enhance observability platforms across its global infrastructure. You will design scalable telemetry, analytic pipelines, and automation that improve incident response, reliability, and operational efficiency.

You will work with SRE, platform engineering, and operations teams to instrument services, deploy IaC patterns, and apply AI-driven analytics to reduce noise and improve signal quality.

Qualifications

• Experience building observability capabilities in large-scale infrastructure.
• Proven experience with thousands of compute nodes or petabyte-scale storage.
• Hands-on design and operation of observability platforms using Elastic, Grafana, Kafka, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.
• Strong scripting in Python, Ruby, or Bash for custom tool and ETL processes.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software solutions for observability, operational analytics, and intelligent automation across infrastructure.
• Build scalable, reliable systems for telemetry collection, processing, searching, correlation, analysis, and visualization.
• Develop tools, APIs, and integrations for monitoring, alerting, incident management, and workflow automation.
• Create software capabilities that improve visibility across OS, orchestration platforms, compute, storage, networking, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.
• Partner with infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, and operations teams to identify observability gaps and implement scalable solutions.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code practices to deploy, configure, and maintain observability components.
• Apply data-driven techniques, AI-assisted methods, or intelligent analytics to improve signal quality, anomaly detection, alert prioritization, and root cause analysis.
• Document technical designs, implementation patterns, and operating procedures to boost teamwork productivity.
