Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer - Platform / Linux Engineering to design, build, and optimize high-performance Linux platforms powering the firm’s low-latency electronic trading. This hands-on engineering leadership role emphasizes immutable infrastructure, containerization, and automated provisioning.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Strong programming skills to build production-grade tooling and automation (Python/Go/Bash).
• Deep Linux engineering expertise across admin, internals, performance tuning, and low-latency environments.
• Experience with kernel-bypass networking and configuration management (Chef/Ansible).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and governance of AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading, from hardware to kernel level.
• Architect new system designs and deployment models including immutable infrastructure and automation pipelines.
• Perform deep performance engineering and latency optimization (kernel tuning, CPU isolation, NUMA, IRQ affinity).
• Write production-grade code and automation to reduce toil and improve platform reliability and speed.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks and governance of AI-assisted practices.
