Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer- Platform / Linux Engineering to design, build, and optimize high-performance Linux-based compute infrastructure powering electronic trading.

You will lead hands-on engineering, develop automation, and drive latency improvements across hardware, kernel, and network layers. You will mentor teams, collaborate with the Electronic Trading Lines of Business, and apply modern AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while upholding

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering/related field.
• Experience building production-grade tooling and automation.
• Deep Linux engineering expertise (administration, internals, performance).
• Hands-on kernel-tuning and low-latency optimization experience.
• Experience with kernel-bypass networking technologies (e.g., Onload).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring others.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and responsible AI practices.
• Experience with Terraform and container/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading, from hardware to kernel level.
• Architect new system designs including immutable infrastructure and automated provisioning pipelines.
• Perform deep performance engineering and latency optimization across the stack.
• Write production-quality code and automation to improve tooling and reliability.
• Apply and govern AI-assisted engineering practices across teams and SDLC workflows.
• Interface with hardware/software vendors on roadmaps and future infrastructure.
• Guide resource decisions, budgets, and governance for engineering efforts.
