Job summary

JPMorganChase's Global Technology Infrastructure group seeks a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and tune Linux compute platforms powering low-latency electronic trading. You will code, architect deployments, and drive performance from hardware to network layers.

You will mentor SREs and partner teams, apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery, and govern engineering practices across the SDLC to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Strong programming skills with production-grade tooling and automation (Python, Go, Bash).
• Deep Linux engineering expertise — admin, internals, performance tuning and benchmarking in low-latency environments.
• Experience with kernel-by-pass networking and config management (Chef/Ansible).
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading, from hardware to kernel level.
• Architect new system designs and deployment models including immutable infrastructure, containers, and automated pipelines.
• Perform deep performance engineering and latency optimization (kernel tuning, CPU isolation, NUMA, IRQ affinity, PT )
• Write production-quality code and automation to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks and improve delivery speed.
• Drive governance of AI-assisted engineering practices and promote code quality and test automation.
• Interface with vendors on product roadmaps and define next-gen infrastructure.
• Mentor SREs and engineers across teams and ensure scalable patterns across domains.
