Job summary

Bloomberg is seeking an engineer to design, build, and operate integration services on a large-scale Kubernetes platform within BPaaS. You will contribute to reliability, observability, and cross-service coordination that underpin production workloads used across the company.

The role emphasizes on-call readiness, incident response, and evolving platform integrations to meet scaling and lifecycle needs. Collaboration with other infrastructure teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating services in Kubernetes-based production environments.
• Experience with cross-system debugging across Kubernetes environments.
• Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident resolution.
• Strong understanding of reliability, observability, and fault isolation.
• Experience designing integration patterns between independent systems (API- or event-driven).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate integration services on a large-scale Kubernetes platform.
• Share production reliability ownership including on-call rotations.
• Diagnose cross-system issues across services and infrastructure.
• Improve resilience and observability of integration workflows.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for platform integration.
• Evolve components to scale with Kubernetes complexity.
• Deliver new integration capabilities from the expanding roadmap.
• Collaborate with sister teams extending Kubernetes APIs and control-plane components.
