Job summary

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Systems Platform Engineer team. You will manage and improve Linux-based infrastructure and on-prem Kubernetes, focusing on automation and reliability.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, security and availability. The role requires hands-on Kubernetes experience on-prem and strong Python/Bash scripting. SaltStack or similar CM tools, observability practices and CI/CD pipelines are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration and infrastructure/platform engineering.
• Production experience managing Kubernetes, preferably on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong scripting and automation in Python and Bash.
• SaltStack, Puppet or Ansible for configuration management.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Managing and improving Linux-based infrastructure focusing on performance, reliability and scalability.
• Designing, deploying and maintaining on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
• Developing and maintaining system-level software, middleware and APIs.
• Automating workflows using Python, Bash and CM tools.
• Building and maintaining RPMs and internal repos.
• Collaborating with SRE, Development and Security for secure CI/CD and platform integration.
• Diagnosing complex system-level issues across OS, network, and runtimes.
• Implementing hardened security configurations and identity/access integration.
• Participating in on-call rotations and documenting architectures for maintainability.
